i have had our cars apart after a fuel injection service was performed. trust me... seafoam wets the stuff down in the engine, but doesnt have a chance against breaking down 20 year old carbon buildup in an engine. best bet is to manually clean it and use seafoam regularly to keep the buildup from occuring.

the smoke is from the seafoam being burned out... just like if you were to have antifreeze getting in combustion chamber or oil you would see the smoke from that being burned up. cleaning it manually the way i do it, the car hesitates to start from the crap in it, and it blows out a black smoke from the carbon i cleaned that ends up in the combustion chamber. you get a much better smoke show by cleaning it by hand instead of regular seafoaming. just make sure you do an oil change after and do the manual cleaning before an oil change.Last edited by 87_crown_vic; 05-27-2008, 06:10 PM.
