    Intake manifold Studs

    Hi All,

I'm going to remove my lower intake manifold to take care of an oil leak on my 1991 302 SEFI. While doing so, I will replace the hardware.

    My question is:
I can't seem to find any specs on the intake studs (about six of them?) that are used with the intake bolts.

The bolt size is 5/16"-18, and 2 inches long (I got them from Summit - #G1579). But they don't list the studs.

Anybody have the info for the studs' length or type that I would need?

    Thanks in advance.

There are no studs used. They are all bolts. There are a few that have small studs for mounting the ground wires and coolant pipes- but they are all bolts.

        Thanks, You're right.
They actually are bolts, but with a threaded end on top to attach grounds and brackets.

But, what do they call them? (I ask so i can search and order them from Summit, Jegs...)

Is there some reason you can't just reuse the ones that you already have?

I doubt anybody makes the exact ones. Might be able to get them from ford though.

Well, I broke the four corner bolts when removing my intake (used the torch/ vise grips to get the remnants). Suckers were stuck bad; I'd guess it was the first time the intake had been off. It was only the corner ones that gave me issues too; must've been that the water passages are there. But, since I have so many parts cars, I just borrowed a few bolts to reinstall the new intake.

                  That's what I'm worried about.
I took the driver-side one, near the firewall, to clean up the o2 sensor ground, and it looked pretty well corroded. I reattached the ground somewhere else and just put a new bolt in there.

                  ok, thanks fellas.
