    Mark VIII fan question

Hey guys I just bought a Mark VIII fan for my Lincoln, and it has 3 wires coming out of the loom, 2 blacks and a blue. Does anyone know which is ground and which is power?

one of the black wires is probably not black, but dirty as hell - start measuring for continuity, when you find the two wires that give you an open circuit chances are these are teh power leads so the remaining one is the ground.

Black is ground. The other two are the two different speeds, high and low. I forgot which was which. Put 'em to your battery and find out. I wired mine into low because even then it's more effective than most electric fans.

I think one has a light blue tracer on it if you can get back to clean wire. I forget which is which, mine I couldn't tell any difference, it moves silly amounts of air either way. ALl I can suggest is power it up and see what you can see.

Anyone run low, and then high when the A/C compressor is on?

I wired up the Superlincoln to do that with a pair of relays. Its not really neccesary and the wiring is excessively complex. Honestly for multi-speed control I'd suggest one of those controllers that automatically varies the speed of the fan to control temperature.

Ditto. They are fairly easy to install.
