Update: I am terrible about filling everyone in on teh info, lol...

Tonite, I priced the flywheel at work..my price... 60 bucks

That is all. This means the 3550 will only be behind the 351W, cause the flywheel is different. Wonder wat I can use as a starter?

For your headers I'd suggest a POR-15 product called Black Velvet. Good up to 2500 degrees. I painted mine with it and so far its holding up just fine. Stinks like hell the first time you fire it off tho.

You can not use your current bellhousing with a 164 tooth flywheel, only a 157 tooth. The starter will be the easy part once you know what bell and flywheel you are using.

            Ed,

Where can I get a 157-tooth with the correct 50-oz imbalance?

You mean 28 oz. for your 351W or 50 oz for a late 302?
Ford Racing or other aftermarket or OEM with a small clutch for a 28oz. The 79-80 Mustang/Capri used a 28 oz 157 tooth 289 flywheeel with the SROD tranny. A 5.0 Mustang 50oz is the only OEM 10.5 clutch 157 tooth.

I can wrap it up with just 4 points.

                  1. You need one flywheel with your 302 and another for your 351W.
                  2. You have to use a 157 tooth flywheel with your current bellhousing.
                  3. With your current bellhousing, you can use a 10.5" clutch on a 351W with an aftermarket flywheel
                  4. With your current bellhousing you can use a 10.5" clutch on your 302 with a factory 86+ 5.0 5 speed flywheel.

Some aftermarket flywheels, 157 tooth, have removable imbalance weights so you can be 28oz(351W), 50oz(5.0L), or neutral(custom).

                      Yeah, I got it now.

I knew about the different balence weights for pre-1981 302s and newer ones, and all 351ws...

Looks like time for the complete centerforce setup, clutch, flywheels, etc...

Well, I finally aquired a set of pedals!

They are off an F350 wrecker, so they got the larger pedals!

                                Pix to follow tonight...
