for those of you with desk top dyno.

I put together a little spare parts motor, just wondering what you think the HP might be.

Ported and polished e7 heads, 98 explorer cam, gt-40 bottom end, stock lower intake ported to match heads, and h.o upper intake, 19lb injectors, 255lp fuel pump......

Ah, that's an interesting way to put it...Good for sales though!

Most of it will depend on the portwork. Should be over 225 though... Too bad you didn't get the GT40 heads. We've had good luck with explorer longblocks.

I have set of GT40p heads, but im going to be racing this car, and i wont be able to use headers, I have to use the stock manifolds, thats why I went with Ported and Polished E7s.

Do you think that I should stick with an explorer cam, or do you think I should go with a HO cam?

Why do you have to use stock manfiolds?

Stang headers fit with some work, and if you plan on racing, the exhaust is the worst part of these cars.

Computer... mark7 if you want to keep SD and cruise, but any fox ecu will work, if you want to convert to mass air.

225-250 sounds about right, depending greatly on the head and intake work. Basically you're building my motor with a stock type intake.

You are correct, it is for a roundy round car.

Also, I had the explorer cam in it, but decided to pull it out and go with an H.O. cam.

The reason I did that was because I am going to run a 4.30 gear, I figured the low gear will give it the rpms off the turn, and the HO cam will alow the motor to make more power down the straight stretch.

The explorer cam stops making power after 4000 rpms....

i can pull 4800 without problems with my explorer cam, but with a 4.30 gear you'll do fine with the HO cam. They do make more power up top.
