    Car shows..

Well, I have a problem... On May 7th, we are dedicating our new Firehouse... Unfortunently, I have been invited to TWO car shows that same weekend!!! (They both want my Fire Chief's car there...) One is a carshow put on by the U.S. Marines, for Toys for Tots... They want as many public safety type cars there as possible... And the other one is a local small Volunteer fire dept... Our Dept. gave them a pumper we were getting rid of... so they ask me EVERY year to go to their carshow! So now I have to figure out which "EVENT" to go to!!!

OH, also.. I have ANOTHER one THIS weekend!!! So the next two days will be getting the Fire Chief's car ready for show again!

I just wish the '84 was ready to show.....

Let's see, where did I put that damn buffer......

        Carshow rained out.....

I got the Vic semi ready for the show last night, cleaned the engine bay up, cleaned and vacumed the trunk, wiped down the inside, touched up the paint where it needed it... buffed out any scratches, etc...... was going to wash it this morning before the show... and then when I got to the show do a quick wax job on it... Well, when I woke up this morning... I awoke to thunder! (So much for the car show!) HMMMM... Imagine that! It rained all fricken day... and now I have a lake again in my front driveway and street... ARRRGGHHHHH!!!!!! They said on the weather channel tonight that we have had 27 inches of rain in Pensacola this month... and that is an all time record... PLUS the 40 inches we got the two previous months.... I think we have had enough!!! The city is talking about permanently mounting the storm pump thay have on a trailer on the next street-- permantly!!! At least the underside of my car is clean... it has rained so much the water in the street is clear! Tom...

Send some of that rain up my way. We're in the middle of a drought. Temps are fucked up, too. It's been cold and snowing lightly the past four days.

River flooding over here. Luckily I live far away from rivers and above Cat 5 surge levels.

                        Storms....

Trust me.. you DO NOT want a Cat. 5 in Panama City, baby... We were in a Cat 3.... And a friend of mines condo was, well, GONE! from storm surge..... totally gone.... ALL of our shoreline homes were gone or severely damaged... if you have EVER gone thru a Cat 3 or higher.. you will not want to go thur another one... I have been thru Camile in 1969, two in Houston, Tx, and three or four here in Pensacola.... They are NOT fun....

I hear you about this summer.... I HOPE it is NOT a repeat of last year!!!

And as to the original subject....
I ended up going to the Firehouse dedication today... Not any of the car shows... We also got our new 35 foot fifth wheel disaster response trailer.. (pictures later) It has 10 bunks in it, and a large fold down door in the rear to put 2 ATV's inside.... we are buying a 4 door F-550 Dually to tow it... It will be a disaster response command trailer...
