whats the story of the ford truck lower intakes?

they are the ones with the square holes right? are they better than the round hole ones? or do they even bolt onto a stock upper.
would it be benificial to get one or should i just hog out the HO one i have

    reason i ask is this

I can tell you right now that any of the box style intakes may give you HP, but they lower your low end torque. I don't know about fitting on your engine, but that intake was designed for a supercharge.

At least that intake has more plenum volume then the usual box-type intake, but the short runners will be bad for you.

Besides, for that money you can get a proper intake, like an Edelbrock Performer. If yuo want one, I know a guy selling one for $300. I wish I had the money myself....
