    Now I'm thinking BBF stroker

I started pulling my 460 out of my 86 F250 today and I noticed a small problem with it. It's got a bad harmonic balancer. The outer ring spun and is coming off the center. The picture sucks but here's the balancer.

The motor has a bad rear main seal ( 2 piece ) And needs some head work and some other gaskets. So I was thinking, I'll need to pull the mian caps to swap out the seal. And I'll have the heads off. So I might as well just do a full rebuild.

I was checking out the price on some crank kits, pistons etc. And came to the conclusion If I'm going to completely rebuild it I might as well go with the stroker kit. It's not going to be that much more expsensive then the standard 460 rebuild parts.

The engine won't be anything wild but I'm going to get forged pistons just incase I ever decide to add a nitrous system down the road.

I'll be pulling the engine tomorrow. Today I got the front clip pulled off the truck and most of the stuff pulled off the engine that needed to be removed. I've just got to pull the exhaust Y-pipe off, drain the coolant and unbolt the motor mounts. Once the engine is out I can sell the truck and get it out of my way.

Mine will be really mild compared to yours! No Dominator under my hood.

Now I just need a 2dr Panther and a winning lottery ticket!!

Well I finally got it pulled. It's one heavy pig!

It even looks like I might be able to use the oil pan that's on it. And it also has a factory oil cooler.

This 460 is going into a future Panther right? Or is this for your '54? Though I thought that you were sticking with the I-6 in the '54. In either case it looks like you're ready to have a lot of fun. That 460 looks like my 390FE that I got in the garage, minus 70 cubes though. I can't wait to see your build-up of this engine. Have fun mang!!!!

Yep it's going to go in a 2dr Panther ( Just need to find another one ) . The chassis I bought for the 54 has a good 400 in it. So that's what I'm going to run in the 54.

As of now I'll be going with an Eagle crank and H beam rods. Haven't decided on the pistons yet.

                  Aint that the truth!!

I'm trying to get that down to a single project. That's why I need to get the 54 finished before I can start on the Panther project.

Not all of that in the pictures are oil stains. There's still alot of wet spots from melting ice.

Most of the oil stains in my driveway are from the vehicles I'm driving!! It's just my vehicles way of marking their territory!!

Hell the way I feel if someone doesn't like the oil stains in my driveway they are free to come on over and try to clean them up!
