    Cam question

OK so I have been thinking about a cop magnet 8 or 10-71 blower for my 460 project. What grind of cam do I need? Mainly street driven weekend 1/8th mile runs. I am having all kinds of problems finding the right cam! All the ones I see say upper end power, but I will need lower end power. Should I just scrap the blower idea all together?

They all are designed for upper end power because anyone who builds up a 460 is looking to race it. If low end torque is your desire, factory cams are for that. However I think you're looking for something you don't even need. Even with a wild cam, a 460 will put plenty of torque out at any RPM. And a blower will add power throughout the entire RPM rage not just one section of it.

Though this is the 5.0L / 5.8L section, not the 7.5L, so you might get more knowledgable folk's replies if this post were in the "Panther Muscle" section.

first, its a 7.5 liter, dummy!!

And secondly, we dont have a 7.5L section. doesnt look like we will have on in the near future, either...

most companies make cams designed specifically to work best with blowers. you should have more than enough bottom end torque with the big roots design that its not too important to get a cam to help.
