I got in a debate yesterday with a friend about what performance 5.0l intake is the best. So let em rip. My friend said the BBK SSI intake was and I believe that the gt 40 or trick flow systemax are the best. Whats your opinion? This is for a modded 5.0l , gt 40 heads port and polished, cam, bigger injectors and bigger tb etc., basically a decent modded motor.

If the RPM can't be reversed...I would go with a GT40 intake, and port the lower end.
Also, no one has mentioned the "power elbow" plenums that bolt onto an EFI-conversion-capable carb'd intake like the Victor Jr. Thoughts on that?2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

Best for what use is a far better question. It greatly depends on what heads, what cam, and what purpose. The parts need to match, giant runners in the intake bolted to stock heads isn't going to work very well at all, you'll end up with crappy low end torque.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I did 14's on cleaned up heads, stock HO cam, and a stock untouched ho intake and 60mm TB. What's behind the motor is as important or more important to a good 1/4 mile time.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

as what is always said.... the rear gears are the best bang for the buck... you can have a pretty stock engine and have good times with good gears in the rear. you can have a great engine, but if the gears hold the car from getting where it needs to go fast, you have an expensive motor fighting the gears.
