You've got oil pressure, but not a bunch. The motor is tired and the bearings are worn out most likely. If its still making pressure at some RPM, its not dead yet. 302s don't really need much oil pressure for grocery getter duty. They'll run a long time with almost none. Just don't put it in first gear and stand on it to see how fast it will go. It will explode. I know someone who did that to his Fireturd, it spun the bearings in a hurry.

My hot oil pressure ranges from 45-55 pounds, with 15W40 oil. (Thats another thing DK, you could try thicker oil.) When I stand on it, it pushes up to about 60 pounds; but if the engine is running at like 200 degrees, idling in traffic, it will fall off to 40+ psi.
My last car had about 8 pounds at hot idle, and lifter noise was a standard procedure every morning. No bearing noise, but the lifters used to take a while to get going. The engine took a shit shortly after I stared driving the car (there is too much crankcase pressure when oil is getting blasted out of the dipstick tube). We put a different engine in it, and that engine has about 20-35 pounds at hot idle, and goes up to about 55 when you get on it. The pressure fluctutates alot in that car, unlike mine. That engine has new rod bearings in it, but other than that, its pretty high mileage.**2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 5.0/ 6 spd/ 3.73s, 20K Cruiser

I dont get it... At all...
I dont know weater to be exspecting the worst and my engine blow up.
or not.
I know now that at hot idel siting it's like 8psi.
This is just upsetting. And evreyone telles me difrent readings. Some people have Low psi some people have high PSI same cars.. Ugha...
It will make me fill better, but i would like to know the truth.
Is it just as long as the psi is up when your getting on it, that makes it Ok.
Ugha, ima half to find someone local to listen to my engine...People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.
