How do you know it should actually take a lot of fuel? If the gas gauge isn't working, its entirely possible the tank isn't as low as you think it is.

well simply because whenever I fill the tank I dont always fill it up. I somehow measure myself....and well it sounds like if the fuel isnt going thru the fuel lines because the other day I stepped on it and it took forever just to react(the motor) or like if its about to just die on me. I guess its just the fear of being left stranded because I didnt have gas in my tank.

Ever changed the fuel filter? It won't have anything to do with the filling but it can cause the motor to run all manner of weird.

well, a filter (obviously), a small screwdriver, and a 5/16" nut driver or socket. Filter is located just forward of the rear tire on the passenger side. Pull the hairpin clip out of the plastic line with the screwdriver. Remove the 2 small screws that hold the cover on. Remove the hairpin on the other line. Fuel filter will come out. Installation is reverse of removal.

Word of caution, do this in the morning before starting the car otherwise you'll get sprayed with high pressure fuel. Fun stuff.

Just make sure the fuel system is not pressurized. If you don't have time to wait, wrap a rag around the plastic line end and turn your face away before pulling it off so it doesn't spray you in the eye.

my Grand Marq is always pressurized and never loses the damn pressure... anytime i crack open the gas cap it hisses at me. if you drive the car and need to bleed off the line pressure... there is a vlve on engine fuel rail to press on to release the line pressure.

Your vapor return system is not working then. The fuel system pressure won't pressurize the tank, it only holds pressure between the fuel pump and the pressure regulator. The filter happens to be right in the middle of that route. The return line and the tank itself are not pressurized. If the vapor setup isn't working though, it won't pull the fumes out of the tank, so it will hold pressure under the cap.

Another way to de-pressurize the system thats a bit safer than messing with the pressure test port is to unplug or smack the inertia switch in the trunk while the engine is running. This will cut power to the fuel pump and the engine will die when the pressure falls off. Simply reset or re-connect the switch when the filter swap is done.

the fuel tank on my car being pressurized isnt first car i have had this issue. my first CV i had was real bad with pressure also. there was one time i cracked the cap open when i got to werk and it hissed for 5 minutes it seemed. my tan Grand Marq is almost as bad sometimes, and hisses real bad when i crack open the gas cap. it isnt a typical hiss like opening a can of soda, but a hiss tha it is depressurizing and letting out LOTS of built pressure. guess you can say that i know my seals on the gas tank are good if it has the pressure in it. i think i will be taking a look at the vapor canister to make sure the lines to or from it arent blocked. i have come across before where there was stuff blocking/restricting the lines of the charcoal canister. i always thought it was normal for all the pressure my gas tank has.

Mine does the same thing. Whenever I open the gas cap it hisses a whole bunch. The emptier the tank is when I open the cap, the more it hisses. What's up?

Might want to pick up a shop manual for it, it'll help with stuff like this. Even a basic Haynes or Chilton covers maintenence type stuff.
