    5.0HO or 351W

I am wondering what would be better to do. Should i spend the money and get the parts and convert my 1989 Grand Marquis to the HO motor or pick up a carborated 351 and do a good cam and intake and port the heads. If i go with the 351 can i use my 5.0 flywheel and starter along with my water pump and serpentine accessories and brackets.

There's no replacement for displacement. However, the HO swap for your car is a tried and trued way to increase power and economy without even having to pull the motor. Being 351 equipped myself, I am biased toward the larger displacement, however the HO swap will be cheaper, and a whole lot easier. BTW,

with the 351, all your accessories will work, however if you want to run AC you will need a specific ac bracket. the alternator bracket is the same, just use different holes.
you will need a 28 oz. imbalance flexplate, the starter is the same. some where here (i think it might be in the tech archives) i have a thread covering a 351 swap
