My old mans 94' coversion van has a 5.8 in it that runs great. The fuel pump just went on the van and he's decided to not fix it. How stupid would I be to let this motor go? Is it a direct bolt in to the 89 wagon? Would i have to keep all the accessories and serpantine system off the or could i still use the stock wagon stuff? Otherwise it's going to the J yard.

The wagon accessories bolt onto that motor. You will need to source a A/C bracket off a 5.8L crown vic from the J/Y or someone here. The EFI on the van won't fit under the hood of the wagon however.
I sure wouldn't just junk it, it's worth a few bucks.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

Can I use the wagon EFI for now?
Basically, it sounds like i can bolt this 351 in change the AC bracket and use the stock EFI? 94 is still ODB 1 correct so i wouldn't even have to switch any sensors. And stock cam i would assume, bigger injectors.

No--the deck height on a 351W is higher than on a 302, so the EFI intake from your 302 won't fit.

The Professional Products EFI intake (available on eBay) might fit under the hood, but no one has tried it yet. There's nothing that we can confirm for sure will fit under the hood. The 351 EFI topic has been covered many, many times, so if you do a search up at the top of the page, you should be able to find quite a bit of information on it.

The only 351's that ever came in Panthers were carbureted. In addition to the professional products intake, if you can find a GT-40 lower intake for a 351, a 94-95 Mustang Cobra upper may fit under the hood, but it will face the wrong way, and due to the 45 degree elbow at the throttle body, it cannot be reversed. To have the intake face the right side of the car, you will need to relocate your battery to the left front corner. Blaze86Vic did it on his, and it's definitely not impossible, although it's a pain.
In addition to this, the GT-40/Cobra combo will flow a lot better than the stock heads and cam, so it will be best to upgrade those, possibly with a set of GT-40P heads and a Mustang cam to keep a balanced motor, and once you do that, you will need to change the ECM to a Mustang/Mark VII speed density unit, which my or may not require a tune to run correctly.
Keep in mind that the combo I just listed has never been tried to my knowledge, nor has any other EFI 351 in a panther. The parts may or may not work together as planned, but on paper they are relatively balanced.Nick

That's most likely a roller 351W block. Pull that, they are sought after because they only made them three years in production vehicles.
Heads are E7's as well, and would be good if you want to do an HO upgrade. And I think the stock cam in that engine isn't too bad if you are looking for a good low end and mid range.1990 Country Squire - under restoration

Pull the engine, put the E7 heads on your 302, put the 351 cam in it, and get a Mustang upper intake and put it on. Then you can build up the 351 roller block in the garage and drop it in something later.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)
