    What mufflers?

2.5" dual exhaust will be going on soon, cattless h-pipe. Got the BBK shorty headers and these tips.

Don't know what mufflers to go with yet. I want a nice low V8 noise, but not any ridiculous amount of volume. I like the noise level of the mark vii or a little louder, but i'm not sure if its stock. I also dont want a bunch of drone inside. Most people have told me flowmaster 40's, and i have heard there is a certain length that will reduce droan. Just want to get a few more opinions and suggestions. thanks

I have Flowmaster 40 series mufflers on my car (w/ 2.5" cat back). Before I installed extra sound deadening they resonated alot inside the car. The sound deadening made a huge difference, but there is still some resonance. Every once in a while I here a buzzing sound; its the geadliner vibrating due to resonance.

If you'd like your car to be loud outside (which mine is kind of loud; or so I've been told), and quiet inside, some decent sound deadening is really a good idea. It really diminishes road noise as well, which is also really nice.

Since you won't have cats, turbo mufflers are nice. They're quiet at idle but there's a nice rumble when you hit the gas. Summit Turbo's a real cheap. I'm curious as to what Summit Chambered mufflers sound like. Those are the cheapest chambered mufflers (new) that i've found so I want to know if they're good for the money. Anyone here have those on their car?

I second turbo mufflers. Most chambered or straight through will be insanely loud without cats...And flowmasters resonate, no way around that.

Walker Dynomax Super Hemi Turbo mufflers, these are the long-case version of the regular Dynomax mufflers.

                  - Magnaflows

                  - Dynomax Super Turbos

                  - Flowtech Afterburners

The Afterburners are a mild chambered muffler, have a nice raspy growl to them, but NO interior resonance.

flowmasters resonate alot and are pretty loud.

walker soundFX's are factory style mufflers that arent too obnoxious, yet not too quiet. I have no experience with anything else.

I had the afterburners and they do resonate and drone.

X1. Ask me how I know. I also like packed mufflers, such as Magnaflow, Dynomax Race Magnum/Ultra Flow.

my cheapo summit turbos are real quiet. Nearly no drone either. At certain speeds, it drones mildly but its nothing unreasonable and its for like a 5 mph speed range. Basically overdrive under 2000 rpm. I drove it from NJ to Chicago, no complaints out of me. Its actually quiet to the point of barely being able to hear it. I wailed on it a few times in tunnels, and its not loud at all. It would be a fair bit louder without cats.
