351 H.O question and power figures

Ok so I ran my VIN through several different online places and looked in several books and everything I've found is saying I have a 5.8L H.O. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I got the impression that the H.O's were only available for mustangs. On a different angle as far as the LTD-S's were concerned, civilians could not get a 351 for thier LTD's in 1982. So I was wondering if it is indeed possible that I have a High Output motor. Even the insurance company I had a choice of 5.0L and then the 5.8L and in big letters HIGH OUTPUT (I was like great they'll charge me more for a "highoutput" engine that makes less then 200 HP lol.

One more thing, I noticed the power figures for the 351 with a VV carb were 140 HP 265 ft/lbs torque in 82, then they jump to around 180 and i forget what torque, but i was wondering what the increase was from exactly??

    Thanks.

The only 351HO that I can recall was used in 84-87 Bronco's and Pickup trucks, but that was topped with a holley 4bbl, not the variable venturi.

    1984
The 351 CID V-8, HO motor was offered. This 4bbl motor put out 210 HP at 4000 RPM vs the old 351 CID V-8 which was 156 HP @ 4000 RPM It was basically a 351W with a "Mustang 5.0 HO" treatment: higher compression and a Holley 4 barrel carb. 4.10/4.11 gear ratios were also available as an option, but not with limited slip.

Don't credit stickers with defining reality. Even though it didn't get the cool 351HO sticker on the air cleaner, the CV 351 is indeed a 351HO in Ford's twisted little mind... The camshaft was the most significant change. Unfortunately they never gave the car even the 60s performance technology of a low rise 4V intake and Holley carb.
The '82 Mustang 302 had HO stickers on the air cleaner but it had a 2V carb and only made 157 Horsepower. Only 17 more horses than the previous year. Here again, a cam change was the most significant difference to justify the HO stickers....
