Ok I tried searching for this but nothing seems to come up, this has just been bothering me haha. I have an aftermarket Tach which you can set the redline to, however i have on clue as to what the redline is on my 351 Windsor. I know at WOT it shifts around 4000-5000 RPM. Does anyone know what the real redline for my engine is? Thanks

There is no redline on a stock Panther 351. If you just floored it in neutral it would rev until your valves started to float. You're between 4-5k? That shifts pretty high. My 351 stock was never over 3500 RPM unless I held a gear. The car didn't make any power over that point stock anyhow. Due to the 351 having oversize main bearings, and non-forged internals, it is said to keep it under 6000 RPM. I have my HI-6 set at 5500 RPM. You can see my tach, with the redline indicator set to 5k, here:

Oh wow I did not know that, thanks for all the info, and I thought my car shifted in a low RPM! Ok then I guess I'll set my marker to around 5K then, I did have it at 6.-Phil

With that VV if it spins to 5,000 you're doing something. Won't make power that high anyway. Tiny carb and terrible intake just won't let it breathe.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Light accel from tollway to 65 MPH.
That was just (most mangs) normal acceleration. No secondary action and it went from 2nd to 4th in a heartbeat. There was construction on the tollway and we went from 5 lanes to 1 within a few hundred feet. There were also metal plates on the highway, which you can hear me slam into toward the end of the vid. My buddy Michael
also made a weird alien like sound as the window was rolling up. Creepy. Did you hear that, too?
The car WOT with the windows down is a different animal. We filmed the "Lower Wacker Drive" vid the same night, LOL. In the vid, from 5 MPH to about 60MPH only took about 7 seconds. It would still pull hard on a stock box even at part throttle, I would assume. If you have not seen the POS immortalized on video, go here:
The car seems to gather speed in a hurry without drama (on the inside, at least) unfortunately. It makes for a boring drive. Hopefully 1987cp and LtdMasta can confirm this. Too bad Epi didn't have a video camera when we cruised Chicago.
Unfortunately, the car is too damn slow. After I find some good heads, it's time for round 2. Someone on this board has actually held the cam for it :smirk:.

How many miles you got on yours? The only problem is my front bumper it has some rust on the top...I like the push bumper but i probobly wouldn't have put it on if my front bumper was perfect...opps were getting a little off topic in this thread.-Phil
