Those wouldn't be GT40's (if they came on there). Those should be E7TE's. Not as good as GT40's; might be a little better than what you have. I'm sure others will tell you everything you need to know.

I believe the E7TE's are Mustang heads... should be better than what you've got no matter what, lol.

Yea, I've got factory heads too... for $50 I'd pick up the E7TE's.

1000hp... Roller heads? Heads don't care if the motor has a roller cam.
It all depends on how much work is done. I doubt you'd get more than 250 hp out of the setup. And depending on the work they need and the cost of the portwork, find a set of 3-400 buck GT40's instead

You can make over 300HP with unported GT40 or GT40P heads. The Offy 360 intake (not dual port) and a Holley with a decent cam will make over 300HP at the flywheel.....
If you are doing shortblock work, just get an Explorer motor. If your motor is tired anyway, just get an Explorer motor.
if your friend has that engine and stuff from the Mark 7... i want the computer/brain and the cam. too bad you dont go EFI, an explorer motor will cost around $400 or so from what i can find around here.
Think of it this way... if you eventually upgrade to a better set of heads, do you think you could make the money back from buying and porting them?
How much would he charge to port?
