If I have a 90 Grand Marquis and a 91 Mark VII LSC, can the engine in the Mark go right in the Grand Marquis or do I need to just use the heads and stuff.
the engine can basically go in. you need to change the water pump and accessories on the front of the motor. Theres also a chance you may need to change the timing cover, but then again you may not. My 1988 mark VII engine had the same timing cover the stock engine had. Some might have water ports facing the other way and it won't seal against the stock water pump. The intake also flips around, and you'll need your stock fuel rail and engine wiring harnesses. The motor mounts from the stock engine also need to be put on the Mark VII motor.

I was just wondering. I have a 91 Mark VII that has low miles, 80,000. It was rear-ended by a F250 and I have been lugging it around with me for 6 years now. It still runs and all, but the back is smashed and the quarters are kinked above the rear wheel wells. I figured I could maybe use this engine, but didnt know what a pain it would be.
it isnt that bad really. Its easier than tearing 2 engines apart to do an HO conversion on the one in the car. its really darn near the same work as if you had gotten a stock engine without the accessory brackets.
