    Car stalling when idling, just put remote start alarm system on could that be causing

    it i just got it installed professionally and the car is stalling now at lights and when at idle.

    was it doing this before? If it started doing this immediately after the alarm went in, I'd have to suspect its related. It also could be other things. bad IAC can do this, vacuum leaks, clogged fuel filter, etc.

      On an off chance, check your ignition switch (the key jiggle for a start). My original crispy one was finished off in the process of the install. I got it home doing the jiggle once or twice, then it started stalling while trying to move it in the driveway. If the alarm is disarmed, the starter kill shouldn't stall the car. Also, which alarm did you go with? DEI?

        Just install a toggle switch between the ignition box and the battery. That'll solve any possible electrical issues.

        Friend of mine spent all kind of time chasing down electrical gremlins after removing a remote start system from his - get this - FIVE SPEED car. The installers had hacked into EVERYTHING!

          they might have broken a vac line under the hood installing the alarm........or by coincidence the iac shit the bed on you

            i believe its my fuel pump cause i hear it honing in the back and i thought it was going awhile go but after new filter seemed fine.

              Did you get a chance to check the switch? They shouldn't have to hack into all sorts of wires for the install. 85% is T-taps in the column, trunk pop is one tap into the trunk release behind the glove box, door triggers are behind the kick panels in the foot wells. They may have run a tach wire to the ignition coil to help the alarm know the remote start was successful, and of course you have the siren wire but thats pretty much it.

                ford fuel pumps always hum. they dont seem to fail too often either. I replaced mine at 160k, and it was fine. I think Blaze replaced his at like 250k and it was still working OK. Mostly they work, or they don't.

                  I have a friend with a remote start on his 5 spd Honda Accord; installed aftermarket.

                  He has to play some game to set it so that the car doesn't start in gear. Its pretty retarded if you ask me.
