I love riding around in my friend Andy's 90 F150 with a 302. It's got the stock exhaust (not sure what size, maybe 2.25") and no cats of muffler. It's super loud outside but it exits behind the cab and out the side so it's very barable inside. That's how I want my truck to be.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

Now back on topic - I see you have the clamps that hold the pipes pointing down towards the pavement, this may be easy to work on but also makes it easy to catch all sorts of plants and grass and bushes if you ever take the car off the paved road - may I suggest that you turn the clamps so that their legs are pointing towards the driveshaft and the rear axle, it will be a bit more uncomfortable to tighten them up like that, but you get about an inch of ground clearance and if you ever run over something it won't rip yer pipes out. If you feel ambitios you can also cut down what's sticking out behind the nuts for those clamps, makes for a nice and clean looks.

Thanks for the compliments!
Yeah I know I need to turn the clamps I did it in a hurry for a local car show but its ok. I don't take the car off road at all and it doesn't hit the spike strips come on/off base so I think it will be ok till I get around to it. The best part is even if the get ruined I have less then $50 in it.1984 CV tudor 351W, 4bbl, 5-speed best time in the 1/8 8.39 at 80 with 1.80 60ft time.

Justin, I see you edited my post - sorry for the off-topic, forgot about the "keep tech clean" rule. However, I also see that you didn't even bother to say a simple thanks to anyone (me included) who tried to help you out with pics and other info - not cool man, not cool! Anyhow, are you gonna lift the rear end of the car when you install the new exhaust? Lack of proper ground clearance is what killed the setup in my pics - remember when you ran over that curb last year, if you had side exits those would get bent back and if you were really SOL (like I was) the pipes would cut the inboard sidewall of the rear tires... Just something more to think aboutLast edited by Guest; 01-14-2008, 12:40 AM.

So, Monterey, have you decided on a brand of muffs to put on if you'll be pulling it out infront of the rears?1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)

Still too bad front-exit turbo mufflers can't be had readily. That'd be by far the easiest way to build a side-exit exhaust, just like on certain Mustangs from the late '90s.
Though I guess if you're really serious you could build your own mufflers ......2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!
