    what oil

i gotta do an oil change on Shifty in about a week. i'm going with the motorcraft fl-1a filter, but i'm curious as to what to use for oil. right now i'm choosing between motorcraft(wlamart sells it yay), or amalie. the only prob. is amalie iirc is a total synthetic. i don't know how my motor would take that. it can't be bad oil. at the ihra nationals just about every car trailer were bottle s of this stuff. ii'm not just talking people dragging their old montes and stangs. i'm also talking about the fucking top-fuel guys too. so can't be all that bad.i figure motorcraft can't be bad either. made for ford, comes in fords obviously. let me know what you guys think

      SuperTech

W/ their oil treatment for extra viscosity. Coats your components longer. Don't worry it doesn't effect cold startups. It's not extra weight. There is a difference.

Probably, My dad was telling me something about it meeting all the requirments. I've been using it in all my cars since I was 16. For five years now.

            Supertech is good stuff.

Personally, I like Castrol GTX, and have heard Supertech IS castrol...

I also use STP oil treatment...

Valvoline Maxlife here. I've used it in all my cars and only one engine failed... and that is the one I did not use it in, so go figure. I also use Fram... something filter. Its the short one because the long ones for the 5.0 does not fit because of a cross member. Thats all I've ever run. I might switch to their synthetic max life though.. And for the supertech, I have used it before on my g/f's car, and it seems good. No problems and 170,000 miles strong.

my work sells just bout everything xcept for amalie, so i guess super-tech it is.

i'm gonna get a new pcv screen and grommet online. both of the local parts stores i went to, the clerks gave funny looks when i asked about one, and then proceeded to ask if i meant the valve.

I've never been one to believe that fords really need oil, or oil changes. But if thats what you wanna do.... I use supertech, it's cheap. No need for full synthetic on an old engine. If you've got a new engine... synthetics great, but you've gotta use it every oil change right from the start. Maxlife supposedly conditions valve seals and shit.... I'd just use supertech and an occasional oil treatment to help maintain your valve seals.

                      cheers mothafuckas!

I useed Motorcraft 10w30 oil with a FL1A Motorcraft oil filter when i first got my Vic than switched to Mobile One fully synthetic. Noticed it seamed to run smother when it starts up from regular oil.
