I believe the 302 and 351 Edelbrocks are the same....................
Either way, you could clean it up and sell it for more than you got it for if you didn't need it, lol.1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)

if its cheap, get it. If you can't use it on your car, just turn it on ebay.
you'd need to know the year and model of the car to really ID the motor. Could be anything from a 289 to a 460. You might find a sticker under the hood on the fan shroud or something that will ID the engine, but who's to say whats in there now is the original.
351 intakes are wider. They do not physically fit on a 302. 289 intakes are identical tho.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Edelbrock intakes usually say 289, 302 or 351 right on them.....
If you look at where the distributor bolts down and the intake is even with it, then it is a 302 intake. If there is a ledge and the intake is higher, then it is a 351. If you look at the timing cover housing and where the heads bolt down, you can also tell. A 289/302 has a shorter deck so the heads are even with the timing cover. A 351 has roughly a higher deck so the heads are an inchish higher than the timing cover.

those are factory carbs tho. aftermarket carbs like the edelbrock aren't sold specifically for aod cars.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

if it's still there don't show him the intake itself. Pay him for "the intake manifold and carb off of that car" and point at the car. THEN remove them and immediately put them in your car without him getting a close look at either one. Don't hide them from him (it'd make him suspicious as to why you're being sneaky), but try not to let him get a detailed look at them. If he realizes it's an Edelbrock with a 4bbl he'll almost definitely skyrocket the price... dunno about you but most junkyard guys I've personally dealt are jerks who just want to screw you out of some money.
