blue opera lights = illegal.

yes, its true. my blue LED opera lights got me pulled over last night. my understanding was that blue lights visible from the front or rear were illegal, but the cops say no blue lights at all anywhere. so im going to put them on a switch, along with some additional blue lighting im adding to the car. but yea, no ticket... i made him give me a written warning just to have it on record for the night.

Opera Lights

Well, did you bother to ASK any one first??? (Like, maybe an officer, the DMV, or look it up on the web under traffic laws for the State of Florida?) ANY red or Blue light displayed without a permit is illigal in the State of Florida... Whether it is on or not.... Displayed means on the vehicle.... so be ready for him to stop and ask you to turn them on and see if they are still blue.... Just becasue they sell them in the Auto Parts stores doesn't mean they are legal... We stop them here in the 'Breeze" all the time for red and blue windshield washer lights... and they are off the car before the officers lets them go... OFF THE CAR.... They have to remove them right there. So be lucky he didn't make you remove them. Just use a different color... amber or white... Oh wait a minute, they were probably that color to begin with right??? Maybe there is a REASON they were that color????

We stop them here in the 'Breeze" all the time for red and blue windshield washer lights... and they are off the car before the officers lets them go... OFF THE CAR.... They have to remove them right there.

Fine, Id say, Im going off road soon and if I get mud on my windshield, how would I beable to clean it off? Then if I crash into a tree, Ill sue the county because they made me remove my ability to remove debri on my windshield :slug:

This whole thread sounds like a bunch of cry baby juviniles mad because their parents told them they can't do something.... We deal with them all the time.... Maybe thats why you get harrassed by the local cops....
Try working with them, instead of calling them names and getting an attitude with them... They may look the other way a little more on minor issues...
