    I was pulling 16-18 m.p.g. with my old trans, as long as I wasn't getting on it, or running the A/C. A couple of M.P.G. might not sound like much, but at the end of the week, it reallty adds up at the pump.

      hehe - well, for a point of comparison, I'm currently getting 16-17 highway. Feels great after doing 10-13 for a while.

          Yeah, especially when my C4-equipped car, albeit with crazy-tall gears, can do 19-20 with the same moron doing the tuning (me). I'll be working on that one of these days ......

                It's a little hard to tell from Summit's description ... it looks offhand like that's just the shift kit; the reprogramming is PN "AOD-HP" in the TransGo catalog and includes the AOD-HIREV 6000rpm governor kit. I don't see a governator in the pic, for whatever that means .... I'll have to bug torquelover and ask if his HIREV kit included the whole governor assembly or just the springs. But yeah, to be extra certain I'd try to find a local transmission place that deals with TransGo kits and order it through them.

                  It just includes a governor weight for the AOD, which is lighter than the stocker.

                  By the way, since I got the Batman joke in before you did, I win.

                    Which little weight in there is the one that's replaced? The AOD governator has two plungers in it.

                        haha, i figured id search to see if i could find what i was looking for but i didnt. better bring an old thread to life hten make a new one eh? i wanted to find a kit thatd let my AOD/motor rev to 6k and not 5k but wasnt sure what to get since everything i see is a stock piece thall shift at 5k or so.

                          Then the AOD-HP kit that includes the AOD-HIREV governor mod would be just what you need, and I imagine Pirate would know that kit when he sees it. I think torquelover's tranny with the AOD-HP shifts at 5800 with the TV cable pretty slack, AND he claims hard WOT 3-4 shifts at 130mph! (we went a bit slower than that when I was driving)

                          If you don't want to go to the hassle of installing the full shift reprogramming kit at this time, you can get the AOD-HIREV governor kit separately as well. That'd be every bit as easy to install as the Rustang governors you've been looking at.

                            i have a ? not to jack the thred or anything....but with my 87 mer (stock aod) if i just pout in a B&M stage 2 street/strip shift kit(just the kit) and leave my stock governor in there after my H.O. convershion will it shift @ 5grand? or no??

                                these are the 3 kits ive found for the AOD. im guessing one of the other 2 is hte hi-rev kit youre talking about but im not sure which one, cause yea summit doenst specify. haha http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...115+4294904006
