So, I'm about to have alot of fun....

I've had my suspicions the last little while, but I verified them tonight. I turned on my heater in the vent position full blast on my way home from work, and was greeted by a nice, moist blast of very strong coolant smelling air and all of my windows fogging instantly. I've dreaded this day ever since 2005 when I found this site and read all the tales of horron on heater core replacement. I'm gonna order up the new heater core tommorow, then I gotta find time in my crazy schedule to get it done. Couldnt have done it in the summer when I didnt need the heat to defog my windows. Wish me luck! Probably gonna need it...

Ugh, I hate heater cores. Hated changing them in almost every vehicle I owned. Except my old Bronco, that sucker was so easy, I did it twice.. Well ok, so I did it twice because the first replacement shit the bed after a month, but still. And dont you just love how nice and viscous the coolant gets when it hits that cold windshield?

Don't let too much of that stuff get on your windshield. It's a time-consuming pain in the ass to get the glass clean again.

Mine hasn't gone yet. It'll probably go in Januray or February. Is it worse to do it in a 90- 91? I know the dash in my '88 came apart pretty easy. Never really had the dash too far taken apart in my 90.

I'm pretty sure the dashs in the 90-91's are an even larger pain in the ass, since they are 1 moulded piece of plastic.

Mine is starting to leak a tiny bit again, so it looks like I'll be dealing with it again. Carpet padding is damp, and I get vague coolant smells. Its not bad yet tho, so I'll ignore it a while longer. Pisses me off since I just did this last year.
