Umm, there are a couple of things i dont have yet, due to lack of funds. ( But these wernt on my mandatory list either )
But they are new hoses and a radiator.
Theres no way on earth i can spring for a new radiator atm, But i was wondering if i should go ahead and get the lower radiator hose? Or any other hose for that matter. which would be in any other time hard to put on other then having all this stuff off. hehe
btw, whats the ball park on one of them torches? And where would you get one?
Anyway. If you can't buy a new one there are a couple things you could do. You could ask here around GMN for someone with a radiator and negotiate a price. You could, go to a junkyard and look for a fairly new looking one. Or you could go on ebay and look for one.

I hated changing that hose.
While you're in there, change the T-stat and that other hose coming off the water pump. So they're all new. Just a suggestion.

Cool, didnt even know about that hose. My radiator actually dosn't have any problems that i know of. It's just old, and it has them particals hanging on it, ( on the inside.) ( I was the first person in a long time to actualy put anti freeze in it.... )
So ill stay with it for a whille hehe.
So whats the diagnole one called? Is it "Water neck hose"?People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Good call on the thermostat. Usually well under 10 bucks at the parts store, and it's a good excuse to stick in a 180 or even a 160 if you dare (bad for winter heating, fun for a slight power boost). Techless tip: if reusing the stock water neck, don't bother with a gasket. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly, apply plenty of Ultra Black, and let it cure at least overnight before filling up the system. Better yet, consider spending the $15 on an O-ring water neck from the performance section (Spectre or Mr. Gasket brand).Last edited by 1987cp; 12-31-2007, 12:27 AM.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

The larger diameter hoses I think are just called upper and lower radiator hoses. No clue what the little 90 degree one is called, and then you can just use bulk hose for the two that go to the heater core.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

It's a bypass hose--that's the one that the coolant goes thru when the thermostat is closed (bypassing the radiator).
Oh, and Zach, regarding the breaking off water pump bolts thing, if it makes you feel any better, I've never had a problem with 'em--granted I haven't done very many, but I've got two cases where it wasn't a problem, so hopefully that makes you a bit less nervous.

yay, hehe. Really i don't put nothing past this car in terms of fixing.. If it can break a bolt that will scare me.. It will hehe. ( Im hoping the actual water pump in there isnt leaking, or anything thus no rusty bolts but eh, what can you expect after 20+ years.)
( On a side note ima try to go get my little check cashed in a min and try to get these hoses, ultra black, oil filter, And Anti seize goop. :-/ Ima do some window shopping first though to see who has them at the lowest prices. )
Is this the ultra stuff you mang's are talking about?
if thats it im going to advance. they actualy state they have Ultra and anti size goop. my toatole is like ball parked 84 ( that be high if, there parts are the same price at the store... )
Ok, guess the only other thing to do is see if i can get my check cashed... Although i dought i can today.Last edited by DarkKnight; 12-31-2007, 03:36 PM.People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Kewl. Thankfully, there's no real need to replace hose clamps unless the old ones are broken or you just really want shiny new ones. Your local hardware store might have hose clamps in bulk, or just run back to the parts store and beg for some clamps at the counter.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!
