    aod

    gonna change the tranny fluid on my aod
    how many quarts dose it take and what brand of tranny fluid is good for it.
    its got about 73,000 miles on it and
    still runs strong

    Dexcron/Mercon III or IV, About 12 quarts if you are draining the converter. I'd suggest changing the filter while you are in there.

      make sure you got one of them bronze TV bushings to ensure the aod continues to run strong

        yes very important. It will save you a lot of stress, and a lot of money. Plastic TV Bushings.

              Yes.

              Also, if its an 86, there is no bushing.
              86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

                Yeah one of the good things about having an 86. But I believe that he has an 87 Colony Park. So the TV bushing would include you Rellik God

                  it is a BRASS bushing and clip you would need to get. you can get them from a Ford dealer or a trans. shop. cost is around $5 for the bushing. if you dont get it the plastic one will fall apart and cause transmission to run at constant pressure and burn it up. $5 part will save from $700+ rebuild. i would get it a shift kit to get it to shift right so it doesnt just slide into gear to keep the clutches from wearing out sooner.
