    Cylinder Head Tech Data

I found this stuff online today and figured I'd post it here in hope of it one day making the tech section.

It's just some info about stock cylinder heads in the early cars. The NHRA apparently thinks all passenger 5.0L made after 1986 are HO's.

Got cam info for 1979-1982, not including '79 California.

    Anyhow, see the attachment.

Interesting info. Odd that on the 255 they made it with one style head in 1980, switched in 1981, and switched back in 1982...wonder what the reasoning was, there.

its funny how ford fans and critics lambast FoMoCo for creatng the 255 while GM cranked out similarly weak V8s, it was a poorly executed act of despiration of trying to meet CAFE by both. Even worse for GM since they had a couple V6s to work with by 1980.

thankfully lincoln stuck to the 302 even when caddy put out the HT4100, arguably the worst pile of aluminum and iron to ever be placed into an engine bay
If ChryCo had the dough they probably would have ressurected the by then defunct 273-inch variant of the LA small block V8 (318-340-360)

Ahh yes I know first hand the 110 horses of the Olds 260. But at least it could be had with a 5-Speed Manual.

It is strange how the 255 swapped heads. The NHRA rulebook (where this info came from) could be wrong. I mean, they are saying all the '83+ 302's came with HO cams. I know that's not correct. I only included the info that sounded reasonable. Who knows.

They know that only an idiot would use a E6SE head on a 1997+ car.
