I got a NEW HD cast IRON one from autozone. It's used in the cop cars and some of the tow package cars. I have a nasty habit of blowing gaskets out. The cast iron one fixed that problem. It has 2 extra bolts.

i had a reman from napa, started leaking in 10k, new one from i forget, 8k and the gasket blew out of the back of it. got annoyed and put the cheapest pump i could get on there, like a $15 reman. Its been on there 20k miles and has been off twice now I think, no problems. Win some, lose some.

Might want to consider a timing chain while you're in there. The 85 would have that plastic geared piece of crap that wears out way too soon.

Thanks Scott. I think I can get it. I will replace any hoses that I touch. The money I would spend on gas would of set any savings on the pump.

Gas is close to 3 bucks lately.

                            Thanks

My dad told me when installing a new water pump to remove the cover on the back of the water pump and put some RTV on there to keep that seal from crapping out on ya. I too replaced a fairly new Napa pump because it was leaking on the back cover (previous owner installed it). I installed a remanufactured pump I bought at a swap meet for $10, it was a old Advance Auto Parts pump before they started using CarDone.-
