    91 GM + 3.73 + trac loc = mmmm yea

    today was the day. 4 hours of smelling gear oil. i pulled my 2.73 open differential out and installed my 3.73 trac loc. all went well! i drove it around town for a while to break it in... no growls or howls, no whining or crunching, no leaks. after the brief break in (probably too brief but i couldnt resist) i tested the limited slip out, and yes sir, it is nice. leaves two marks on launch, instead of just one.... and is amazing how fast the rear end can come all the way around at 10mph+wheels turned+wide open throttle. the 3.73 is very nice, increased my rate of acceleration nicely. dont have a tach, but sounds like my rpm in OD at 50mph give or take is about the same as it was in D at 50mph with the 2.73... so yea i will be running OD more often now. but again, guesses, due to the fact my speedo reads about 80 when im doin around 50. anyways, definitly a nice upgrade, way worth it. just thought id let yall know :banana: :banana: :banana:

                  Good luck finding one for an automatic. The highest count factory (FRPP included) gear is the purple gear. Stick guys are spoiled with higher tooth count gears from the aftermarket.

                        do you think it would be within 5mph or so? if so, that would be fine. i plan on stepping up to a 28" tire soon anyways. if you wanna part with your extra gear, i can paypal you a few bucks for the gear and postage money.. that would work. thanks man!

                              The e-bay link you posted shows a manual trans gear, which will work for a while but will eventually chew itself up. Manual trans gears have a short snout, automatic gears have a longer snout.

                              this should be the one you need;
