      yes i know they are longtubes but they are a good choice because they are shorter than other longtube designs for the 302.

        BTW, Michael, what do you do for a living? I know you have a "science" degree, but what is your profession? Just curious seeing as you have a useful knowledge (at least to me its useful).

          Bench racing on general theories will drive you nuts. Just the bloody knuckle factor motivates me to stick to shorties in an application where there is not a direct fit header.

          Many NMRA classes require shorty headers. That means that there are some really really really fast cars running shorties. You can get at least up to a 1 3/4 shortie header. A 1 3/4 shortie header will handle all of the air that any engine will be pushing through it which you would be bolting into your car. I son't care how much extra horsepower it makes, I REFUSE to run an equal length header.

            Profession? Ha! I wish! The best job I've had so far was assembling pipes at a travel-trailer plant with a complete jackass for a supervisor. The working conditions sucked and the constant threats sucked worse, but otherwise I didn't have any serious complaints.

            I'm actually perfectly qualified for my wife's job, but her bosses won't touch me because they hired her first.
