I also have mixed interior colors. A long time ago my trusty Ford parts guy told me my car had non-factory seats/belts. They were Ford parts, but installed by an outside outfitter. Perhaps this is why your seats don't match the sheet and why my seatbelts are gray when the rest of the interior is red?

Entirely possible. The seats that are in it are Ford seats. Just evidently not what originally came in the car.

Does it have a 17-digit VIN?

Doesn't have to have one. The info is available for '67 up to '96 (or higher). I got one for my dad's '67 Mustang.

You could call them and see if they could get you one. They'd be able to tell you on the phone.

The real build sheet is actually stuffed into the car somewhere, and it has much more information on the car than the crappy one that Ford sends you.

Mine is very weathered and was only discovered a few months ago. Not much left of it from where it was stuffed into the springs on the bottom of the driver seat.

Funny that I got Goodyear tires, but it came with a Firestone spare.

Build sheet is in the same place on all 86-91,under the DS seat springs. On earlier models it could be found anywhere, including inside the dash.

Heres mine,Not much point in having it though as no one knows how to Decode it.

I also have my original owners manual.

The buildsheet on my wagon indicates it came with 4 Michelins and one Firestone (the spare).

in about 5 seconds of searching, the one under my seat was ripped in half, looks like they ripped it down the middle and only put the left half in there. the one in the trunk looks like its new, and they drew a big F on the bottom. im sure all the other ones are chillin in there too. the previous owner bought my car new when she was 79, its amazing how nothing has aged on the inside of that car.

how do you decode what tires it came with? or anything else for that matter..

You want to know what size tires it came with, or what brand?

If its size, open the passenger's side rear door. Theres a plaque right on the body near the striker that outlines the size. My '90 CVPI came with 225 70 15, but I think civilian cars had 215's. I could be wrong.
