Crap I will have to hunt for it...
I dunno mang. I tried to decode my wagon's buildsheet with the books I have for it, but the only thing I could figure out was that it came with 4 Michelin tires and one Firestone spare...

The build sheet should list some options on the car (at least mine did). Inoperable courtesy lights, inop parking brake (WTF? it works fine), etc.

Do you have a Ford service manual? That might help decode it a little. There is a section in the front of my service manual that goes into it a little bit. Also, if you want the basic things, use the VIN decoder on fords fleet vehicles web page. It gives build location, horsepower, and some other worthless crap. Not very in depth, but thats how I verified my whopping 180 horsepower.

I ordered mine...they say it'll take 4-6 weeks to get it. Also, according to the Ford reps, a History 999 report and a buildsheet are teh exact same thing. I thought there was supposed to be some difference, but FoMoCo tells me otherwise. *shrug*

Never found mine, but I wasn't really looking for it. Carpet has been out, seats I threw away. I did swap the seat tracks over to the current seats and don't remember seeing it stuffed into the springs. Also don't recall it being under the carpet. Trunk carpet has been out, under-hood mat is gone, all 4 door panels have been off, dash has been apart, no build sheet that I can locate unless it was in the trash that I threw away when I got the car.

you can get replacements? The one for the police car is long gone I found it under the pass seat and it was trashed...one of the worst places for it might I add.

SO if I can get a new one how much it cost and where?

Update: Got mine today. w00t! I don't have a scanner here or I'd scan it in...maybe I'll snap a picture of it later. Too tired and short on ambition right now.

                      Build Sheet?

                      First off:
WTF IS a buildsheet, far as I can tell its the same thing a VIN will tell you...

                      Second off:
Any one know where one SHOULD be in a 1991 CV PI?

A buildsheet is a more complete list of information than just decoding the VIN can tell you.

Where it SHOULD be is wherever they decided to put it, but it's usually stuffed inside the dash somewhere, or up on top of the front seat springs, or under the back seat, or under the trunk carpeting, or...

Only thing that doesn't seem to match reality is that it says the car was ordered with split bench front seats, but I have buckets. Thing is, the seats are green whereas the rest of the interior is blue, so it's starting to make me wonder if those seats aren't original to the car.
