    Bucking

Alright my '91 is having a bucking problem, It drives fine in 1st - 3rd. but in Overdrive and occaisionally in 3rd it'll buck badly unless I feed it more throttle. if I'm just cruising at around 40-55 and just kinda feathering the pedal to keep speed it'll just buck hard. Any suggestions?

ThatOneGirls' 91 did that when the Transmission was on the way out. Used to do it bad too.

the more i read about the frequent TV adjustment issues the more i appreciate that i have the AODE. Sure, i had to replace my MLPS for ~60 bucks but thats been it for 180k (with reg fluid gasket and filter changes). If i ever get myself an AOD equipped car would it be wise to adjust to max TV pressure as soon as i start driving it?

mines done it ever since i owned the car, just keep it in D until you need overdrive and then back to D.
it could also be your tranny mounts are shot making you feel the trans jumping around.

I 've beat the hell out of my car since day 1 while its done this and its still kickin ass..

They don't need continual adjustment, just normally in factory setting and after a while once the cable stretches and the bushing begins to deteriorate, it needs a bump in pressure to make it work right. Also, the internals in the trans wear so it requires a bit more pressure to get things going properly. So basically after 15-20 years and 100k+ they need a bit of TLC to run right.

Alright that's simple enough, Gotta get a new alternator today so while I'm at it I'll adjust the TV, any suggestions on how much I should pull it out, a few notches? I don't have a gauge or anything.

All better guys, grommet of course crumbled couldn't find one at any of the auto places so I picked up a pack out wire grommets for the time being until I can get over to a deaership and try and get a brass one. moved the slider up bout a 1/4 of an inch maybe 5 or so notches, shifts aren't real firm but no more bucking and the car accelerates better now, also found my #6 cyl wire off of the plug not sure if I did it or if it's been like that. she seems to run nice now.
