The problem with regular 5.4 rod 347's, is that the piston pin placement goes right into the oil control ring lands....they use a wee bit of oil. The 5.315 rod kit doesn't have that problem.
Look at the pin location, and where it goes into the ring land.
The 5.315 piston looks something like this:
Not the exact piston, but you get the idea, no pin intrusion into the oil ring land.

Thanx for the heads up Pirate!!!! I didn't know any of that since the 5.4 rod kits seem to be so prevalent. Now I know what kind of kit to look for when I build up the 331" for the CV.

I don't think the 331 kit has the same problem with the 5.4 rods.
