    I need a transmission builder...

Anyone know an excellent transmission builder in southern WI/ northern IL? I need someone relatively close so I can deliver and pick up my AOD. I just dont have the money to ship the thing around the nation. Also, who's making the best AOD wide ratio gearset available? I've been looking at a few and everybody has a different opinion for me (as usual).

Best bet for the builder is to ask around and check the Better Business Bureau before you select one.

There really isn't any aftermarket wide-ratio set available, unless something has changed since I last put one together. Most competent tranny shops can dig up these parts used...they simply put new bronze races in (if needed, or if they can be changed) on the few parts that get pulled from the 4R70W. Truck freight/air freight (we have an air-freight service here in Portland, goes all over the USA, I think it was $100-$150 to ship my last tranny) isn't that bad if you crate everything up properly, then just ship it to Brian in PA.
