    Valve Cover Gaskets

What are the best type of gaskets? I dunno, cork, rubber, neoprene, or something else. Just wondering what opinions you guys have on each type of gasket(s). I tightened down mine and it is still leaking oil onto the headers. Smelling burning oil while I am driving is fun.

metal core. So, either factory ford ones or the Permadry

And if you just keep tightening down the VC's they get distorted and never apply any pressure on the gasket.

Ford ones are good. The only ones I've ever used. Crush protection, and no leaks. I paid $40 for the last set I got though.

Fel-pro Permadry. Mine have been in my car now for a few months with no leaks. They are expensive though, but you should never really have to replace them again.

The ford racing are the same as the ford ones you get at the dealer. 40 bucks, BUT they are reusable and don't leak.

The Ford ones and the FelPro permadry gaskets are extremely similar.
