just made a 5 mile trip to and 5 mile trip home in Baby. on the way home i got the last hill and had foot down 3/4 of the way doing 65 when she started losing power. she dropped all the way back to 45 and finally kicked down. she needs a Transmission Dr. appointment since her TV pressure is maxxed and needs looked at. she barely holds second gear due to shifting thru gears WAY TOO SOON. Gadget knows what i am talking about, since he rode in the car at SF. i am afraid of losing my car for another month though. i guess i might have to be hitching rides to work when she goes in. if any of you dont know, she was in the shop during the whole month of March getting her trans. rebuilt and had a "A" servo and shift kit installed.

i just dont wanna be left without wheels. i can get Deuce running again, but would be pointless if i am getting a new motor in the spring or if i hit some money from the lotto. a guy at the gas staion i go to has hit for $1500 and $2000+. if i hit i would be sending some money Scotts way to get started ASAP.

Just makes me wonder if they didn't replace the pump or something when the trans was rebuilt. It just acts like there isn't enough pressure.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

this is my question on http://www.2carpros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=97488
does it sound like yours? if it is its a clip thats broken on the connetion of the detent cable. i fixed this problem 2 weeks ago and it cost me 90something dollors. the transmission dude told me that if i drove the car more on going up those hills i coulda burnt my transmission. since the detent cable wasnt applying the any pressure becouse the clip that holds it in broke. well that was the problem with my car maybe in your to.. if not i hope you get it fixed soon.

i had cruise set at 55 on the way home and first hill i came to the speed started dropping off and car came to complete stop....it did this twice on the way home. they put a new pump in it...i saw it while it was out of the car. while it lost all power to go it started backfiring/popping like engine was being dragged down by trans. i know i am gonna end up losing the car for another month.

it never fails to amaze me how some one can screw up an AOD rebuild. these are simple transmissions and very easy to build. The AOD WR I built has been in 2 cars now with lots of abuse and never missed a beat. Recently I have built several 4R70W transmissions that are still going strong with no problems.
I guess people get in a hurry and get sloppy.2003 Town Car Signature - 3.27 RAR, Dual exhaust and J-mod - SOLD 9/2011

I rebuild AOD/AODE/4R70W/4R75E transmissions....Check out my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/North...48414635312478
