i find it impractical to rebuild odometers when i can get used ones for 10 bucks....use the gears out of the 85mph units to fix the 120's

1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

please be patient, rebuilding an empire!

The odometer on the Tank stopped working about 20 minutes ago. So the odometer and the trip don't work. To the junkyard, tuesday!!

My trip hasn't worked since I bought the car, but at least the regular odometer keeps chugging along. Also, Bob Evans FTW!

did anyone have a ticking sound from the speedo before it died? Mine's been doing that for at least hte 5,000KM I've put on it since buying it. Sort of a tick tick tick in time with the speed, but it skips a tick every once in a while.

Yeah, im gonna try and swap the gears from a junked unit and see if i can get it to work. if not, i'll try and nab a 140 speedo. Wooo!!! so the odometer is stuck at 150,784. And i love putting mileage on my car!!

And i need a new headlight switch. If you turn the dimmer all the way up, the entire dash goes out. So there's a little adjusting to do before the dash lights stay on. I usually have to give it about and eighth of a turn before they come on. It's not really that dim, but it just sucks.

Is there like any digital meters out there? I think that would be a little nice upgrade for our cars.

They some models came with a digital cluster. I just like the needle. Especially in the slick snow months. I like to know if my tires are spinning or not. The needle helps.

Probably a bad cable, or possibly the speedo is worn out. Disconnect the speedo from the cable and see if it stops, if it does, speedo is the problem, if not... cable.

thanks, I'll do that next time I dig into the dash.

And yeah, that spelling was bothering me too lol
