What's confusing/weird about that is that one day the pump worked fine, the next it didn't. Between when it did and when it didn't, the car wasn't moved at all, nor did I experience a problem with it. One day it started and ran fine, the next day I finally got my power windows working, immediately after that I tried to start it and the pump wouldn't run. That's what's so ridiculous about this... there's no reason it should've stopped working in the first place.

And considering this pump is a maximum of three months old, it'd really piss me off if it went bad this quickly. Fuel pumps ain't cheap, not even when you buy parts at cost.

I got some new bolts to bolt my H-pipe back in place, and when I went to start the car to see how quiet it was, I found that it's not working again.

It really poured last night so I'm assuming that had something to do with it. Are there any spots that I should look first for a shoddy connection?

the plug thats about a foot from the tank, the one that hangs right there by the crossmember on the body. Thats the main power connection for the fuel pump. I'd also check the connections on the inertia switch in the trunk (actually it wouldn't hurt to smack it and reset it), and the connections at the fuel pump relay which is located in that cluster of 4 relays near the wash bottle. Since the front end has been off, probably the relay or it's wiring is more of a suspect than anything else.

Fixed it! My three month old fuel pump ended up being dead. Returned it as a defect, got a replacement for free. Car runs again.

So I take it you had fun time dropping the tank again? How full was it?

The shittiest part about dropping the tank is wrestling with the fill pipe, and that motherFUCKING retaining ring around the pump itself. The ring is what made it take all afternoon to put that pump in. But no... I didn't have fun dropping it again. :p

It was almost entirely empty because this car isn't even registered yet. I have just enough gas in there to run it when I need to test something.

I never had much issue with the lock ring, I always had problems getting the damn straps to go back in place. I swear they shrink when they get taken loose.

I never had much trouble with the straps. I just leave the studs in place and only take off the nut. Then when it comes time to put the straps back on I use a jack to lift the fuel tank all the way up into the undercarriage, then I'll pop the straps back over the studs. They're usually tight enough to stay there on their own until I get the nut on. The most annoying part about the fuel straps for me is when I'm tightening them and rust/dirt falls down into my eyes.

Although for the retaining ring, I found that if you bend down the corner of each ear, they'll go in a LOT easier. My trouble is getting all of the ears under the tabs at the same time.
