That cam (Trick Flow Stage I) takes away your mild manners and good fuel efficiency. You would need 3.73 gears and 2500RPM stall converter minimum. For a HOT street/strip car, it is a great cam. Especially with 1.7 rockers. Even with 1.6 rockers, you would have to watch your Piston to Valve clearance. That is the beauty of using a stock HO cam. No clearance worries. A little N2O and you are in serious business. Decent fuel efficiency until you want to rock and roll.

Personally, instead of using that much cam in a 302 for a daily driver, I would do a 351W build with those heads and intake (351W version) for over 400HP NA with more mild manners.

but with a larger motor comes lesser mileage.

so it sounds like that might be a good kit if used with the ho cam then?

If you are looking for mileage and performance, go with an Explorer combo for now. I probably either have or can help you find what you need.

i'm honestly overwhelmed at the friendliness of this forum. i dont think any other forum i've been on has had people this willing/eager/friendly lol.

it'll be a bit before i can start doing anything, i dont even have the car yet lol.

when i do get it i will prolly start by adding dual exhuast, cai, minor stuff like that, while i'm saving up for all the real goodies.
