HO Upper, What to do with this?

Alright I am starting on that HO upper install on the wagon. I noticed as I was taking it apart that the HO intake didn't have the grove in it or the holes for the below that the lopo had. I circled what I am talking about in the pic below. What do I do with that or what is it for that matter?

If you run the cover plate for the intake that metal bracket is so thin you don't need to worry about it. You can notch it if your heart desires.

Alright I just saw others didn't have that there. Just got to paint all this shit up and get some hose for some lines for the new upper.

I used a ruler, lined it up across the top, scratched the lines to match the other side, then notched it when I put one on my 91. Worked fine. My 88 dosent have all the controls on the upper intake like that, they are on the passenger fender, so I didnt have to worry about it on that swap. Not a big problem though, it just gets in the way while your trying to take the upper off.

Ok another question here. The HO TB is alittle different at the linkage side. The stock TB has the ball end where the throttle cable snaps onto and a hole for the TV cable. Now the throttle cable is the same but the TV cable side is a male end not a hole. Now it looks like the cable almost needs to be female not have a plastic peg that the grommet goes onto. I tried to explain this as best as I could if you guys don't get what I am saying I can take pics of the differences.

Need to remove the levers from both TBs by grinding the rivet (or whatever it is) that holds them to the TBs. Take the lopo lever, weld it to the HO TB. Problem solved.

Hmmm so that is the issue. I could have sworn that the guy I bought it from ran it on his box. Damn and I was going to put it on tonight. Thanks mang.

Also, I'm pretty sure you have to switch over the lopo Vac tree (that is on the underside of the plenum). PIC

I noticed they were alittle different. I can do that no problem. Aright back to the TB thing. I see on the HO one it had a screw and a washer holding it on. Undid it and the linkage connector thing popped off. Is that stock or did the guy that had it before me do this cause it looked like it had be ground on. So I ground on the lopo one and I ground that rivit thing off. Now there is a tiny little hole thing and it is flush everywhere else. Do I drill out that hole or do I keep grinding? I mean all that rivit thing is ground off now.

Grind a little more, then pry the lever off with a screwdriver. At least, that's how I did it in PA last year.

Ok I will try that then. Umm anything about that HO TB though with the screw, is that stock or has it been messed with?
