Really not much to a 302 once you get rid of everything on/around it.

I think head bolts work for engine stand bolts if you're desperate and have some washers. Shouldn't recycle those anyway. The bolts you can get at without pulling the valve covers are the shorter ones.

mine ended up being too short cause the engine stand's brackets were thick with the spacers and all.

yea thats the problem i'm having, the transmission bolts are too short, i'm just gonna run to the hardware store and get bolts will work. i can't wait to start rebuilding the engine, and the transmission i'm going to rebuild at school during transmission class!

yea i wanted to save more parts but i didn't have room and my dad was getting on my ass about the car being in the driveway for the past 3 months so i had to get it out, there wasn't a whole lot to be saved from it, the entire car was twisted in one way or another, the trunk, doors and hood didn't line up right anymore and the frame has a serious kink in it. even the axle arms and shock mounts were bent! apparently the damage was a lot more than i thought till i finally got under it and was able to really check it out.

i did get the engine on the stand tonight but i'm beat so i'll post pics tomorrow of the engine sitting nicely, waiting for me to rip into it!

edit: decided to upload the pics tonight sooo. here ya go!

I'd plug up the intake and exhaust ports and power wash that thing before tearing it down. It'll still need a hot tank, but it'll make teardown a lot less messy.
