headers, 2.5in offroad H pipe, dumped magnaflow magnapacks...its loud, obnoxious and sounds like a real hot car and I love it.

My '85 has Hooker AeroChamber (FM40 copies) that sound really nice under acceleration and quiet at cruise.
Those of you who think straight-pipes sound good a really missing out. I drove my previous box around without mufflers for 6 years thinking it was nice. My '85 sounds waaaaay better.
You be the judge:
'87 lopo, true-dual exhaust, cats, no mufflers, side exits: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1...rgia-video.avi
'85 HO, h-pipe, no cats, Hooker AeroChamber, side exits: http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/507169/mvi_3773.avi
Unless your a hillbilly from the south with your truck jacked-up 4-feet, it's pretty obvious to me.

I liked the way both of those cars sound Adam, I guess i'm part redneck, which would explain why I like BBQ, trucks, and Nascar so much.
Also, the Civic has the stock exhaust except a leak after the headers. It sounds awful, very ricey and not a good loud. If it was deep, I could take it no question, but since it's high pitched, it's very annoying. Maybe if I didn't roll with the windows down, since with all the windows rolled up it's only annoyingly loud outside the car. But I can't stand not rolling with the windows down, I feel trapped in that small car without. I have the windows down even when it's raining and snowing. Hell the other day I had the windows down when it was hailing.
Sorry I got to rambling a bit, back to mufflers.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

Loud is cool for car shows but my ears are already damaged, I don't need to abuse them more with loud exhaust and louder music to cover up the exhaust.

When I get a good car, I want to try out Hooker Maximum Flow mufflers. Those are supposed to flow just as well as straight pipes but still provide some backpressure. They probably sound more toned than straight pipes also. They aren't too expensive either.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)
