    Dual taurus electric fans?

I know this isn't a 5.0L/5.8L tech question but do you guys think two Taurus electric fans would be enough to keep my 460 cool? My truck has A/C and an oil cooler. I want to toss the stock fan clutch setup and go with an electric fan/s set up.

I've got an electric fan that I think is either out of a 91 Lincoln continental(3.8L ) or possibly a 92 cougar 3.8L. I don't really remember what it came out of. But it looks like the same as the Taurus fan.

I'm considering running two of these on my F250. I think I'll have to cut down the shrouds and join them together toi get it to fit.

Does anyone know how many amps these pull? I'm almost positive I'll have to upgrade my alt.

IIRC the Taurus fans pull something like 75 amps on start up and 25-30 constant on low and almost 50 on high

It looks like a 200 amp alt. will cost over $300. How about running two 3g's?

16?? Must have had one hell of a stereo!

I'll be running dual batteries, dual cooling fans I might as well go with dual alternators too. I can get 2 3g's for around $50.00 which is much better then $300 for a new 200 amp alt.

From what I heard from my stang buddies, the 3.8 taurus fan on low is plenty to cool hopped up 302's

The Mark VIII fan is the biggest Ford fan available and moves the most air. I have a Taurus SHO fan on my Mustang and it has no problem keeping it cool.

A standard 130A 3G alternator is more than adequate to run a Mark VIII fan, which draws more current than the Taurus fan.
