    CV didn't like the Seafoam

One and a half cans in the gas tank ... so far so good. Half a can in the brake booster vac line ... no smoke and no real change in anything. One can in the crankcase ... um ... he did not like that at all. Waitin' for the engine to cool before I change the oil.

Zero smoke show. I was quite surprised by that. Only ran it for about 7 minutes after dumping the can in the oil. Started runnin' like shit and wanting to die out.

Once you change the oil, you need to beat the hell out of it. I usually just suck it through the pcv hose, shut it off to let it break up the carbon, fire it up and flog on it. I do it till no more smoke. I doubt your engine needed it in the crancase tho, unless the inside of your engine was gunky.

That was the thing, I bought the car with 134,xxx miles on it and have no idea how the previous owners maintained it. Figured a good cleaning would do it some good and help with the stumbling at low RPMs.

Have you popped the valve covers off and seen if its crusty. My vic only had 42k when I bought her but is crusty as hell. The rings are fried and no seafoam will help that. If your valve covers aren't crusty you could be fine.

After you do a treatment like that you are supposed to let it sit for a couple minutes, then WOT it on the road. It'll run like shit for a few revs, but clear up. At least it's that way with the BG44K treatment.

Did the oil change, runs good. Did a very small amount of smoke out the back. Just looked like heavy exhaust. Didn't last long. I did, however, pull Code 34 with my reader with engine off and engine on. EGR code.

I also discovered that the rear main seal decided to start giving. At least, it looks like the rear main. Couldn't find the "clunk" from the front end. I also noticed the voltmeter was reading a hair lower. Yes, little things like that bug me. May just have to do the 3G alt. These stock alts just piss me off.

Will just have to drive until something reveals itself or something breaks, I guess.
