Well, it appears that some '89's came with it and some still had the "Check Oil" light.

I'm thinking it has to do with the MAF sensor getting bombarded by air from the fan, thus fooling the computer into thinking the engines sucking more air and overfueling it.

Yup, thats fan wash. the turbulence upsets it.

No, it connects to the tubing, and bolts to a airbox.. It's a stock newer vic/marauder setup. Takes in cold air from right behind the headlights.

Well, I don't have it anymore either, I had an issue with it when I first did the conversion and didn't have any decent air tubing for it. Now, with the CAI on it, it breathes from behind the washer fluid reservoir and it's fine.
