Well, went back at 11:00, it roared back to life without issue.

Boom was as in "boom, I'm STUCK!!!".

Car now has a CAI I "borrowed" (permanently) off a buddy of mine. The filter is behind the coolant reservoir, pointed toward the fender, there's no way in hell it's getting any fan wash now.

The electric fan kicks on now, and the car doesn't skip a beat, which is a nice change from it flooding out

Can't wait for the A9P to arrive so I don't have to have my foot ready to "snap" the gas so it doesn't stall when I put it in gear.

Nice to have it running right now, as gas mileage is great!!!!

Just out of curiosity, what kind of gas mileage are you getting now vs. what you were getting before?

Well, with the baffed TPS when I first did the conversion, I was getting 25MPG highway. Then, when I put a good TPS on it, that dropped, probably to like 12 or 14.

Now it's back up to at least 25MPG, but I haven't done much highway driving, so it might get better as the ECM learns.........

          I'll keep you posted.

Hmm, might have to consider a mass air swap on my car. I'll see how the SD goes first though. I'll have less wiring changes involved since i don't have integrated cruise.

              UPDATE:

The A9P arrived today, I pulled the cruise wires out of the ECM harness, moved the thermactor pins and fired it up! NO CEL!!! W00T! Car is running PERFECTLY!

              VERY happy with this conversion!

I have NEVER EVER EVER had a CEL no matter what codes I had... My car has constant codes because of the missing FP sensor wiring...Not that it effects anything though.

I had a CEL with the A9L and the cruise wiring still intact, and the thermactor wires not switched.

I should also mention that not one of my Ford's ever had a CEL..

I bet the cruise wiring was hot and the ECU didn't like it...

Quite possibly. Gadget was saying something about the TC's CEL stuff is difference from the CV/GM stuff so maybe that's why mine comes on and yours doesn't?

The 89 TC actually has a computer-driven CEL. I dont think the Vic/GM got a computer-driven CEL till 1990. 1989 and older Vic/GM had an 'engine' light that meant no oil pressure or overheated engine only.

OK we don't have Cruz control on Vicky so would that affect the mass air upgrade when we do it?

I only recently noticed, but my 89 CV has 2 check engine lights. a red one for overheat and low oil pressure (has a picture of an engine) and a yellow one for computer related stuff.

my 88 GM only had the one red light (picture of engine).
