    Cruise control won´t work properly

    Hi guys.
i´ve got a problem with my CC...

all the buttons work fine, but when im setting a speed, for example 60 MPH, the car accelerates up to 62, than slows down to nearly 55, and goes up to 62...
you can see the accelerotor pedal goes up and down... it doesn´t drive exactly the speed i´ve set...

i found no leaks in the vac-lines... is it an electrical problem?

i hope you can help me

good chance its the speed sensor. Located between the cable and the speedo gear were it connects to the trany.

Speed sensor or a vacuum leak. The vacuum line has a T and 2 check valves in it. If the check valves are leaking, they can cause problems. There is also a vacuum dump attached to the top of the brake pedal. You might want to disconnect the cruise where it hooks to the vacuum tree, and try pumping it up with a hand vacuum pump to see if it holds.

what year is this car? does it have intergral cruise or stand alone?

If the speed sensor were bad, the cruise won't work at all. the problem you are describing sounds like a bad amplifier.

it´s a 89 CS. i think it have an integral cruise, i don´t see a amplifier under the dash, only the computer.
but correct me, if i´m wrong.

i´ll try to get some pictures today

88+ is integral. No amplifier under the dash.

pull the trouble codes and see if anything is stored in the ECM. the cruise system does have the ablity for diagnostics, but you will need a hand held scanner to do it.

it is possible the cruise servo is faulty, either electrically or leaking vaccum internally. both of my cars have leaking cruise servos
